Contemporary artist Tony Henneberg was born in Germany, raised in Zimbabwe, and educated in South Africa. His formative years were spent in rural areas where he developed a keen interest in the wildlife around him.
He is best known for his exquisite watercolor and oil paintings of birds. Ripley Waterfowl Conservancy selected his paintings of the Baer’s Pochard and Grey Crowned Crane as representatives for their logo to highlight the diversity of waterfowl found around the world.
