Pierre Raser is contemporary French artist who wonderfully embraces baroque realism with an added touch of trompe l’oeil in his still-life paintings. Raser studied at Ecole des beaux-arts Annecy, Haute-Savoie, France. His paintings are rich in color and detail, and his use of lighting adds to the three-dimensional character of his works. In this painting, the musical instruments are so real-looking that you think you should be able to pull them out of the painting and play them.

Raser has had solo exhibits at Galerie St. Paul Megève, Haute-Savoie, France (1988); 1989 Galerie Benedetti Digne, France (1989); 1990 Galerie Jaqueline Dufour Lunéville, Meurthe-et-Moselle, France (1990); Galerie Chabanian St Denis de la Réunion, France (2000); Galerie Le Baron Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire, France; and Galerie Pierre Rasèr St Gervais les Bains, France (2001 – 15).
